Siddhartha Vashishta Charitable Trust

Siddhartha Vashishta Charitable Trust is a registered non-profit organization based in New Delhi, India. The Trust was initiated after seeing the harsh realities and problems that plague our society today, particularly the sorry state of children of the jailed inmates and the demon of cancer affecting so many. We are committed to making a difference to those who are actually the most marginalized in society.

The trust's core activities are as follows:

Human Touch Child Education Program
The program is committed to improving the lives of children of jailed inmates who are suffering for crimes that they have not committed; the attached stigma and scarcity of resources to get the very basics of education and medical aid compounds their misery further. We believe these children also deserve a fair shot at life. The trust provides education assistance to these children along with their uniforms, books and also medical assistance now through comprehensive medical insurance plan. It is an effort aimed at financially and emotionally strengthening the family members of convicts. The trust has so far adopted 460 children of inmates serving time in Tihar jail.

Catch the Cancer program
An endeavour to spread cancer awareness and to educate people about the prevention, early detection and treatment of this disease. The trust provides timely help for effective early detection and guides the patients towards the most affordable and reliable treatment to increase chances of survival by involving noted physicians, doctors and surgeons to give strength to its activities such as medical camps, seminars and conferences. The trust gets across its messages to the community through events such as fine art exhibitions, street shows, awareness seminars, etc. the trust has conducted 59 medical camps till date.

Chance for Change
A spirited activity to support those in prison through adequate counselling and job opportunities after release. The trust has helped many to stand on their feet by trying to provide employment and also by honing their inborn talents and also promoting their interest in music, painting etc. The trust has provided employment to more than 40 inmates released from jail.
